Birmingham Rotaract

Rotaract Club of Birmingham was founded on the basic principle of placing “Service Above Self.”  This time honored philosophy is both embraced and exercised by Rotarians around the world.In the spirit of this philosophy, Rotaract has worked tirelessly to use its membership’s talent, time and energy to make the lives of others better.  Along the way, Rotaract has developed strong community partnerships with Junior Achievement, Gateway, the Birmingham City Council and other service.  We launched an international service project in 2009 with Rotary clubs in Sri Lanka.  Rotaract believes in promoting responsible citizenship and stewardship through service to our community. Rotaract has adopted a signature service project, Ready 2 Read, which places libraries in every second grade classroom in Birmingham City Schools.

Our service effort has become an example of what can be accomplished when we work collectively to make Birmingham a stronger, better city.
