Hatton C.V. Smith is the President of Royal Cup Coffee and currently serves as the President of the Downtown Rotary Club.
Hatton Smith was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 2, 1950. He graduated Mountain Brook High School in 1969 and went to Washington and Lee University receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 1973.
Smith is a past President of the National Coffee Service Association and a past Chairman of Coffee Development Group. He is also a founding Director of ServisFirst Bank and a trustee for Baptist Health System.
Hatton Smith’s active community involvement includes: Past Senior Warden with Episcopal Church of the Advent, Trustee of Washington and Lee University, Past President, Washington and Lee Alumni Association, 1998 General Cmpaign Chairman for the United Way and Former Chairman of the United Way board and Young Presidents Organization. His present and past board positions include: The Club, Birmingham Rotary Club, United Way, McWane Center, Boy Scouts, American Cancer Society, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Mountain Brook Community Education, and Baptist Health Foundation.
He is married to Ellen Jackson Smith and has three children: Margaret Joslyn Smith, age 20 who attends the University of Alabama; Barbara Gage Smith, who is 17 and attends Mountain Brook High School; and Hatton C. V. Smith II, age 14, who attends Mountain Brook Junior High School.
